Example: PS1 |
|
| Caution: The PS1 measures gauge
pressure and has a vent on the
back side of the sensing diaphragm to minimize any error due to ambient
air pressure changes. Even though the PS1 has a stainless steel diaphragm, the
possibility exists that the diaphragm could be punctured. As a result, if the diaphragm is punctured, a leak
can occur that allows the process fluid to pass through the sensor. For
this reason it is important to make sure that the sensor is not used in an
application where the process medium is contaminated or agitated such that
the diaphragm could be punctured.
The PS1 has a plastic housing. The sensor should be installed thumb tight with Teflon tape. Over torque with a pipe wrench can damage the sensor. The PS1 is a low cost sensor not designed to be the sole element in a life dependant, safety, or critical application. In these applications, redundancy should be employed. |
